If you think you may have high radon levels in your home, you should get a radon test and mitigation system. Radon mitigation is an easy process that reduces radon levels to a safe level. Some of the techniques prevent radon from entering the house, while others work to reduce the levels that have already been detected.

What you should know about Radon mitigation?

Radon is a naturally occurring gas. It is produced when radium and uranium decay. The gas can get into your home through soil particles. There are two types of mitigation systems: passive systems and active systems. Active systems remove radon from the home while preventing odors and moisture from entering the house. These systems also eliminate vapor intrusion.

Although the materials used to build a house are not the major source of radon, some natural materials like granite can have higher radon levels. The good news is that Health Canada conducted a study on 33 types of granite commonly purchased in Canada. They found that none of them had significantly high levels of radon. Even if a house has similar materials, radon levels can vary wildly between homes.

In a typical radon mitigation system, a pipe is installed through the floor slab of the foundation and vents radon outdoors. The system works by reducing the air pressure difference between the house and soil. This in turn lowers the amount of radon that is drawn into the home through the foundation.Find here : lifetimeradonmitigation.com
